I am doing my project on the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China was ordered to be built by Qin Shihuang to protect China from northern invading countries. The Great Wall was built 2000 years ago in 200 BC and took 21 years to complete. Some things that are a big part of the Great Wall of China’s history are all the myths. One of the myths is that the bones of the people who died building it are buried in the foundation to help keep it sturdy. This myth has been proven wrong because when the bodies decomposed the wall would have tumbled over. When the Great Wall of China was built it cost the lives of thousands of people. It took over one million people to build it, including peasants, criminals, and soldiers. The Great Wall is 10,000 miles long and built of stone, packed dirt, mud and masonry.
